Therapists in Sarasota are Learning Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)!

The recent Herald Tribune article provides current information about ART – an evidence-based treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, anger, resentment, and other conditions.

Most of the counselors at Harmony Harbor Counseling & Wellness are trained in ART. Dr. Stacy was Basic trained in ART in 2018 by Kathy Long, who is featured in this article. She was so personally impressed and moved by this intervention that she had her entire staff Basic trained by Kathy in 2019.

But we did not stop there! In 2020, we were all also Certified as Master Clinicians in ART, which means we have extensive training and were directly trained under the creator of ART, Laney Rosenzweig.

What I like most about ART is that it works and it works quickly, usually within 1 to 5 sessions. And while some traumas can be very difficult to recall, clients do not even have to talk about their traumas to therapist for this treatment to work. The treatment moves them through the recall quickly by using eye movements and a technique called voluntary memory/image replacement. Together, these techniques changes the way in which negative images are stored in the brain and the result is that the trauma or initial concern no longer triggers the emotional or physical reactions.

As Laney explains, you Keep the Knowledge, but Lose the Pain.

That is the magic of ART!
