Kristy Bower, RCSWI
Kristy is a therapist with a lifelong dedication to supporting children and families. After earning her degree in Art Education from the University of Florida in 2002, she spent years using art to foster emotional expression, resilience, and growth. She later joined Forty Carrots Family Center as a Parenting Educator, working closely with caregivers through play-based groups and one-on-one support.
Kristy earned her Master’s in Social Work from Boston University (2025) and is on the path to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She provides therapy to youth of all ages, and especially loves working with middle-schoolers and their families using a range of evidence-based approaches including art and play therapy, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and family therapy.
More About Kristy
Her areas of focus include emotional regulation, anxiety, trauma, divorce, life transitions, coping with medical trauma, and supporting neurodivergent children, including those with ASD and ADHD. Kristy enjoys connecting with pre-teens and teens to help them navigate the emotional and social complexities of adolescence. Kristy also works with caregivers during the postpartum period, addressing postpartum mood disorders and emotional adjustment.
As a certified Circle of Security Parenting™ facilitator, Kristy helps caregivers become therapeutic parents and build secure, connected relationships with their children from infancy, through the life span.
